Job Requirements
- high school education/GED or equivalent
- paramedic license in state of practice
- AHA Basic Life Support certification
- AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
- valid driver’s license and must be at least 21 years of age or older
- paramedic certification
- hospital fire and life safety certification
- preferred associate’s or technical degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- preferred three years’ full time experience in a 911 system
- preferred emergency vehicle operator certification

Job Duties
- provides emergency care in the pre-hospital environment
- provides advanced-level medical care including evaluation, treatment and stabilization to the ill and injured
- responds to calls for emergency medical assistance such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation or bandaging a wound
- assesses a patient's condition and determines a course of treatment
- administers oral and intravenous medications, intubates patients or performs surgical airway insertion, and places catheters for venous access
- provides individualized care plan for patient presentation according to medical practice standards, issued standing orders, and department policies
- performs other job-related duties as assigned
