Job Requirements

  • High school education/GED or equivalent
  • Paramedic license in state of practice
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS or HS-BLS or RQIBLS)
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS or HS-ACLS or RQIACLS) certification
  • Valid driver's license and must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Paramedic (PM)
  • Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS)

Job Qualifications

  • High school education/GED or equivalent
  • Associate's/technical degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience preferred
  • Three years' full-time experience in a 911 system preferred
  • Paramedic license in state of practice
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS or HS-BLS or RQIBLS)
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS or HS-ACLS or RQIACLS) certification
  • Emergency Vehicle Operator Certification (EVOC) or equivalent preferred
  • Valid driver's license and must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Paramedic (PM)
  • Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS)

Job Duties

  • Provides individualized care plan for patient presentation according to acceptable medical practice standards, issued standing orders, on-line medical control and department policies and procedures
  • Provides emergency care in the pre-hospital environment
  • Provides fundamental components of patient comfort, safety, privacy and respect within the perioperative setting
  • Identifies and develops areas of expertise within the surgical specialties
  • Conducts emergency medical classes as requested by department manager
  • Administers oral and intravenous medications
  • Intubates patients or performs surgical airway insertion (cricothyrotomy), and place catheters for venous access such as central venous lines
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
