Job Requirements

  • High school education or GED required
  • paramedic license required
  • AHA Basic Life Support certification required
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required
  • valid driver's license and minimum age of 21 required
  • hospital fire and life safety certification required
  • three years of full-time experience in a 911 system preferred
  • emergency vehicle operator certification preferred
  • associate's or technical degree preferred

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or GED
  • paramedic license in the state of practice
  • certification in AHA Basic Life Support
  • certification in AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • valid driver's license
  • knowledge of hospital fire and life safety
  • experience in 911 emergency medical system preferred
  • emergency vehicle operator certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Provides emergency care in the pre-hospital environment
  • evaluates and stabilizes patients with medical emergencies
  • responds to emergency medical calls including CPR and wound care
  • assesses patient condition and determines treatment plans
  • administers oral and intravenous medications
  • performs advanced airway management including intubation and surgical airway insertion
  • conducts emergency medical training classes as requested
