Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Graduate of an EMT-P training course approved under Arizona 9 A.A.C. 25, Articles 2, 4, and 5
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 180 days
- ADHS Paramedic Certification or Arizona State Certified
- Ability to work full-time in a healthcare setting
Job Qualifications
- Graduate of an EMT-P training course approved under Arizona regulations
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 180 days
- ADHS Paramedic Certification or Arizona State Certified
- Preferably a 1 year Associate Degree, Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in pre-hospital or emergency medical service
- Ability to comply with department specific competencies
Job Duties
- Provides and collaborates direct patient care services under the supervision of a licensed caregiver
- Assists with personal care and activities of daily living
- Monitors vital signs and documents intake and output
- Initiates peripheral intravenous lines and performs phlebotomy
- Administers medications under supervision in accordance with approved medication list
- Assists with patient transport and maintains a safe environment by cleaning equipment and stocking supplies
- Observes and reports changes in patient condition to licensed caregivers
- Reinforces patient education under the direction of licensed personnel
- Addresses questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members
- May answer patch phone calls under supervision
- Performs other duties as assigned
