Job Requirements
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months of hire date
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date
- Emergency Medical Tech specializing in Paramedic credentialed from Texas Office of EMS-Trauma Systems OR Paramedic credentialed from Texas Office of EMS-Trauma Systems
- High school diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience
- Certification as EMT, Paramedic, or similar license
- Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about common athletic injuries, treatment protocols and sports medicine practices
- Self-motivation and sound judgment
- Preferred: Drivers license
- Preferred: Pediatric Advanced Life Support
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience
- Certification as an EMT, Paramedic, or similar license
- Experience in sports medicine or strong interest in learning about the field preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn about common athletic injuries, treatment protocols and sports medicine practices
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment
- Experience providing clinical support at events or in field settings preferred
- Experience working with children or adolescents preferred
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification preferred
- Drivers license preferred
Job Duties
- Provide basic and advanced life support treatment, care and evaluation of patients
- Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient under the direction and in collaboration with a physician and/or Registered Nurse
- Initiate and implement interventions based on transport team protocols
- Monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment as appropriate
- Provide population specific education to the patient and family about the patient's illness and therapeutic interventions
- Inspect, maintain and care for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public
