Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- HS Diploma or GED
- IL State EMT-P certification
- Tested into or will test into Edward Hospital EMS System
- Valid Driver's License and good driving record
- Consent to criminal background check
- Pass pre-employment testing including complete physical and lifting agility exam along with successful interview

- Preferred PHTLS/BTLS Certification
- Preferred National Registry
- Preferred field experience
Job Duties
- Provide high quality care to patients in the transport environment under direction of the Program Medical Director and the referring and/or receiving Physician
- Autonomously evaluate critically ill or injured patients of all age groups, provide therapeutic and emergency interventions and preparation for transport
- Collaborate with other team members including drivers, coworkers, leadership, healthcare partners and customers
- Assess and detect changes in patient status and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving
- Plan, organize and position equipment and supplies for use in emergency conditions before, during and after transport
- Maintain complete and accurate records, participate in quality assurance programs, perform data collection and participate in special projects
- Maintain clinical proficiency across neurological, cardiac, pediatric, obstetrical, traumatic emergencies and other patient populations
