Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • three years experience as a paramedic
  • two years experience in EMS education or training
  • licensed paramedic (PARA) - state licensing board IN department of homeland security
  • paramedic (PARA) - state licensing board primary instructor certification
  • basic life support instructor (BLSINST) certification
  • advanced cardiovascular life support instructor (ACLSINS) certification
  • pediatric advanced life support instructor (PALSI) certification

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED
  • associate's degree in paramedic preferred
  • bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred
  • three years experience as a paramedic
  • two years experience in EMS education or training
  • licensed paramedic (PARA) - state licensing board IN department of homeland security
  • paramedic (PARA) - state licensing board primary instructor certification
  • basic life support instructor (BLSINST) - American Heart Association
  • advanced cardiovascular life support instructor (ACLSINS) - American Heart Association
  • pediatric advanced life support instructor (PALSI) - American Heart Association

Job Duties

  • assist with the coordination of the EMT and paramedic program including conducting interviews policies syllabi and student clinicals
  • prepare educational lesson planning and delivery of lessons
  • track student grades attendance and progress utilizing data to inform educational strategies and address remediation and disciplinary concerns
  • ensure effective teaching methodologies testing and remediation efforts are in place to support student success
  • foster relationships with various hospital departments to align EMS education with clinical practice and healthcare standards
  • coordinate the maintenance and availability of classroom and lab equipment and supplies ensuring a conducive learning environment
