Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- eligibility for medical command in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- advanced cardiac life support certification
- basic life support certification
- paramedic certification
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- bachelor’s degree preferred
- one year experience performing critical care interfacility transport preferred
- three years experience (minimum 4000 hours) in 911 or equivalent environment as an EMT-Paramedic preferred
- advanced cardiac life support certification required
- basic life support certification required
- paramedic certification required
- drivers license preferred
- EMS vehicle operator certification preferred
- critical care paramedic certification preferred
- national registry emergency medical technician certification preferred
- neonatal resuscitation program certification preferred
- pediatric advanced life support certification preferred
- prehospital trauma life support certification preferred
Job Duties
- plan and direct total patient care during transport shifts
- evaluate patient care and transport functions in accordance with corporate philosophy
- orient and train new and existing transport personnel
- manage and oversee transport staff performance
- maintain effective communication with other shifts for continuity of care
- uphold positive relationships with referring and receiving departments and nursing units
- participate in education, record maintenance, and policy and procedure upgrades for transport personnel
