Job Requirements

  • upload all active certifications with your application
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • valid California Drivers License
  • valid Ambulance Driver's License from the DMV
  • current Medical Examiner's Card
  • current California State Paramedic License
  • valid CPR Card issued by AHA
  • valid ACLS Card issued by AHA
  • valid PALS or PEPP Card
  • driving record compliant with McCormick/AMR Safety and Driving policy
  • completion of ICS courses IS-100B, IS-200B, IS-700A, IS-800B
  • able to drive ambulance on emergency 911 calls
  • demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills
  • able to work collaboratively with allied health and public safety personnel
  • willing to work full-time shifts including 12 and 24 hour rotations

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • possess California Drivers License and Ambulance Driver's License from the DMV
  • hold a valid Medical Examiner's Card
  • possess a current California State Paramedic License
  • hold CPR Card (AHA only, Health Care Provider, no handwritten cards)
  • hold ACLS Card (AHA only, no handwritten cards)
  • hold PALS Card (AHA only, no handwritten cards) or PEPP
  • maintain a driving record in compliance with McCormick/AMR Safety and Driving policy
  • completion of ICS courses including IS-100B (ICS 100), IS-200B (ICS 200), IS-700A (NIMS), and IS-800B (NIMS)

Job Duties

  • assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive paramedic protocols
  • utilize paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care
  • communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given
  • act as paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed
  • drive the ambulance on 911 responses
  • work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow paramedics
