Job Requirements

- high school diploma or equivalent
- valid California Drivers License
- valid Ambulance Driver's License from the DMV
- current Medical Examiner's Card
- current California State Paramedic License
- valid CPR Card issued by AHA
- valid ACLS Card issued by AHA
- valid PALS or PEPP Card
- driving record compliant with McCormick/AMR Safety and Driving policy
- completion of ICS courses IS-100B, IS-200B, IS-700A, IS-800B
- able to drive ambulance on emergency 911 calls
- demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills
- able to work collaboratively with allied health and public safety personnel
- willing to work full-time shifts including 12 and 24 hour rotations
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- possess California Drivers License and Ambulance Driver's License from the DMV
- hold a valid Medical Examiner's Card
- possess a current California State Paramedic License
- hold CPR Card (AHA only, Health Care Provider, no handwritten cards)
- hold ACLS Card (AHA only, no handwritten cards)
- hold PALS Card (AHA only, no handwritten cards) or PEPP
- maintain a driving record in compliance with McCormick/AMR Safety and Driving policy
- completion of ICS courses including IS-100B (ICS 100), IS-200B (ICS 200), IS-700A (NIMS), and IS-800B (NIMS)
Job Duties
- assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive paramedic protocols
- utilize paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care
- communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given
- act as paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed
- drive the ambulance on 911 responses
- work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow paramedics
