Job Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or associate's degree, or technical degree
  • Minimum three years of experience in emergency medical services
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire or transfer
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics obtained within 12 months of hire or transfer
  • Certification in The S.T.A.B.L.E. Program obtained within 12 months of hire or transfer
  • Driver's license obtained prior to hire or transfer
  • Emergency Medical Tech specializing in ER Vehicle Operation credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained within 12 months of hire or transfer
  • Paramedic credentialed from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security obtained prior to hire or transfer
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer
  • Certified Prehospital Trauma Life Support obtained within 12 months of hire or transfer

Job Qualifications

  • Preferred five years of experience in emergency medical services
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire or transfer

  • Certification in The S.T.A.B.L.E. Program obtained within 12 months of hire or transfer

  • Paramedic specializing in Critical Care credentialed from the International Board of Specialty Certification obtained within 24 months of hire or transfer
  • Certified Paramedic specializing in Flight obtained within 24 months of hire or transfer

Job Duties

  • Identifies, intervenes, and stabilizes the ill or injured patient during interfacility and intrafacility transport in collaboration with the transport physician and/or registered nurse
  • Initiates and implements interventions based on transport team protocols
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition and treatment as appropriate
  • Contacts receiving medical personnel, reports observations and follows directives
  • Inspects, maintains, and cares for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public
  • May be required to drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies
  • Complies with the Air Medical Vendor limitations and physical requirements
