Job Requirements
- Valid Indiana state driver's license
- Must hold State of Indiana EMT-Paramedic certification
- Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Pass Indiana state criminal background check
- Pass Indiana BMV motor vehicle report
- Ability to physically perform lifting, bending, and stooping duties
- Available to work scheduled shifts and respond to emergencies
- Adherence to Trans-Care policies and code of conduct
Job Qualifications
- State of Indiana EMT-Paramedic certification
- Valid Indiana state driver's license
- Current CPR certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current PALS certification
- Knowledge of EMS regulatory requirements
- Ability to operate emergency medical vehicles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Commitment to teamwork and professionalism
- Experience or willingness to precept new staff
Job Duties
- Perform all skills and procedures as per Indiana EMS Commission curriculum
- Meet requirements of Trans-Care's Medical Direction and clinical oversight
- Practice skills within Standard of Care Protocol and physician orders
- Follow all Trans-Care policies and procedures
- Respond to EMS calls as assigned by communications center
- Operate assigned vehicle safely following state laws and Trans-Care policies
- Treat all customers, patients, employees, and vendors with honesty and respect
- Maintain patient confidentiality according to privacy policies
- Report breaches of confidentiality or policy violations
- Demonstrate courtesy and professionalism in all interactions
- Check and certify all Advance Life Support equipment prior to shifts
- Account for narcotics and check medication expiration
- Maintain in-service education per Indiana State EMT Agency
- Operate vehicle safely and follow crew and patient safety protocols
- Submit complete and timely documentation
- Maintain clean and hazard-free work environment
- Precept new paramedics and EMT students
- Report vehicle issues needing repair
- Maintain physical fitness to perform job duties
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
