Job Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Maintain continuing education per local Medical Control Authorities and state requirements
  • Ability to write, read and speak English fluently
  • Illinois Department of Public Health Paramedic License in good standing
  • Current American Heart Association CPR certification
  • Current American Heart Association ACLS certification
  • For critical care paramedics, program certification with ITLS or PHTLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
  • Valid Illinois driver’s license

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Provide emergency medical care and transport for sick or injured patients
  • Perform BLS and ALS procedures as permitted by licensure and protocols
  • Accurately assess patient conditions and communicate effectively with medical personnel
  • Operate and maintain emergency vehicles and medical equipment safely
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient confidentiality per HIPAA
  • Participate in equipment restocking, vehicle cleaning, and continuing education
