Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • State of Colorado Paramedic certification
  • National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association
  • Preferably one year of EMT-Paramedic experience
  • Ability to work various shifts including weekends

Job Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Current certification in the State of Colorado as a Paramedic
  • NREMT certification
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification through the American Heart Association
  • One year of experience as an EMT-P preferred

Job Duties

  • Contribute to Urgent Care Department operations and efficiency
  • Assist NP in utilizing department flow and patient placement throughout Urgent Care Department
  • Maintain competence in documentation and care of patients
  • Utilize SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, and Recommendation) for communication
  • Able to cover desk coordination and function tasks for communication, notifications, order entry support
  • Attend meetings and in-services as required by departmental policy
  • Perform vital signs assessment
  • Administer oxygen and BLS airway adjuncts
  • Assist in airway management
  • Perform CPR
  • Initiate and remove IVs on all ages
  • Initiate crystalloid fluid via IV, medication drip, and electrolyte infusions as authorized
  • Provide splinting and wound care including application of topical anesthetic, wound irrigation, preparation of dressings and steri-strips
  • Collect patient specimens including nasal swabs, throat swabs, and point of care monitoring
  • Remove sutures and staples
