Job Requirements
- Valid IN state driver's license
- State of Indiana EMT-Paramedic certification
- Current CPR certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current PALS certification
- Pass State of Indiana criminal background check
- Pass Indiana BMV motor vehicle report
Job Qualifications
- State of Indiana EMT-Paramedic certification
- Current CPR certification
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Valid Indiana State driver's license
- Ability to maintain required certifications and training
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to professional and ethical standards
- Experience in EMS or related medical field preferred
Job Duties
- Perform all skills and procedures as designed by the Indiana EMS Commission curriculum
- Meet requirements of Trans-Care's Medical Direction for affiliation and clinical oversight
- Practice skills and fulfill duties within the Standard of Care Protocol and physician orders
- Follow all Trans-Care policies and procedures
- Respond to EMS calls assigned by the communications center
- Operate and oversee the operation of assigned vehicles under state and company policies
- Treat all customers, patients, employees, and vendors with honesty and respect according to Trans-Care's Code of Conduct
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality regarding Personal Health Information (PHI)
- Safeguard patient information according to privacy policies and laws
- Report any potential breaches of confidentiality or policy violations
- Maintain professional and courteous demeanor at all times
- Account for and check all Advance Life Support equipment prior to shifts
- Check in, check out, and account for all narcotics and medications
- Maintain in-service education as required by the Indiana State EMT Agency
- Operate vehicle and conduct self safely according to law and company policies
- Submit complete, accurate, and timely documentation
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment
- Precept paramedics and EMT-Basic students and new employees
- Report vehicle problems and submit necessary repair reports
- Maintain physical fitness to perform job duties without injury
- Perform any related duties as assigned by supervisor
