Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Current state EMT-P certification
  • Current American Heart Association CPR for the Healthcare Provider card
  • Other credentials or certifications as required by the Medical Director
  • Ability to lift, carry, and balance 100 pounds
  • Ability to exert regularly 50 pounds of force and up to 100 pounds at times
  • Ability to remain calm in high stress situations
  • Ability to be unaffected by loud noises, flashing lights and strobes
  • Ability to work entire work shifts without interruption
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written, verbal, telephone and radio formats
  • Knowledge of equipment related to patient care
  • Ability to interpret instructions and retain a multitude of detailed instructions
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team
  • Ability to document relevant information accurately
  • Ability to read English and converse fluently
  • Ability to calculate ratios and read small print
  • Ability to work under frequently varying environmental and physical conditions

Job Qualifications

  • Current state driver's license
  • Satisfactory driving record in accordance with Falck USA's Driving Policy
  • Successfully complete the Falck SW new employee orientation program, including all clinical aspects
  • Obtain and maintain unrestricted Medical Director authorization at the level of Paramedic as documented in the Authorization section of the Falck SW clinical protocols
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other employees and medical agencies
  • Ability to read and interpret all required documents and write required reports and correspondence
  • Physical ability to perform EMT-P duties including bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting, climbing, and working at heights
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to consistently deliver outstanding customer service
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain a professional manner and appearance at all times
  • CEVO (Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator) or Falck USA equivalent within 3 months of employment

Job Duties

  • Present himself/herself in a professional manner and display a good public image for the employee and Falck USA in accordance with company policy
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures of Falck USA, including the operation's Standard Operating Procedures and Medical Protocols
  • Participate and complete all daily assignments proficiently, punctually and in accordance with the directives of the Field Supervisor, General Manager and other management team members
  • Complete appropriate documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Provide an environment and equipment conducive to safety for patients, family members, visitors, and employees, and in compliance with set precautions and approved standards
  • Operate the emergency vehicle in a safe manner at all times
  • Maintain vehicles and stations in a clean and presentable manner at all times
  • Respond to instructions from dispatcher and drive specially equipped emergency vehicles to specified locations
  • Develop and strive to achieve personal and professional goals established by the employee
  • Utilize all resources available to achieve personal and professional goals
  • Maintain communications equipment, medical equipment and supplies in accordance with applicable standards
