Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Graduate of an EMT-P training course approved under Arizona 9 A.A.C. 25, Articles 2, 4, and 5
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 180 days
  • ADHS paramedic certification or Arizona state certified
  • Ability to work under supervision with medical team
  • Commitment to compliance with department competencies

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Graduate of an EMT-P training course approved under Arizona regulations
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 180 days
  • ADHS paramedic certification or Arizona state certification
  • Ability to work semi-independently under supervision
  • Strong communication and patient care skills
  • Experience in patient transport and maintaining medical records preferred
  • Ability to follow departmental competencies and protocols

Job Duties

  • Provide and collaborate direct patient care services under supervision
  • Perform personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs monitoring
  • Manage intake and output and assist with ambulation
  • Initiate peripheral intravenous lines and perform phlebotomy
  • Conduct eye irrigation and urinary catheterization
  • Administer medications under supervision according to approved list
  • Assist with patient transport and maintain a safe environment by cleaning equipment and stocking supplies
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Reinforce patient education under licensed personnel direction
  • Address and direct questions from patients, families, caregivers, or healthcare team members
  • Answer patch phone under supervision after training
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
