Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior relevant legal experience preferred
- Ability to operate standard office and computer equipment
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work full time in Cedar Rapids, IA
Job Qualifications
- Law firm experience preferred
- Domestic experience preferred
- Familiarity with PC programs
- Strong computer skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Prior family law or litigation experience preferred for senior positions
Job Duties
- Greet clients and take accurate messages including proper return phone numbers and names when individuals are not available
- Receive deliveries by courier or messenger and manage fax communications
- Prepare and draft legal documents for filing with appropriate entities and necessary correspondence
- Perform administrative duties including basic research, filing, mailings, organizing files and pleadings, calendaring, and telephone communication
- Conduct legal research for particular issues as assigned by attorneys using periodicals, law library, public records, and offices
- Enter all billable hours completed on a given day into the designated timekeeping or billing software the same day
- Perform any other reasonable tasks requested by the Firm Management Team
