Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years prior case work or related experience
  • Ability to be flexible and prioritize multiple projects
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Good communication skills both written and spoken
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters
  • Must pass all applicable background checks
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years prior case work or related experience
  • College coursework in human services or college degree preferred
  • Ability to be flexible and prioritize multiple projects
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Ability to access data systems via web-based systems
  • Administrative skills including use of standard office equipment, data entry, attention to detail and filing
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships
  • Mathematical skills including basic arithmetic and use of fractions and decimals
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters
  • Attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong independent judgement
  • Must pass all applicable background checks
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license from state of residence
  • Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive
  • Completion of The Salvation Army's Case Manager Certification and Safe From Harm training within 90 days of hire

Job Duties

  • Direct client services including interviewing and assisting clients with material and financial assistance
  • Network and collaborate with other community agencies to get the best results possible
  • Maintain adequate supplies within the food pantry to provide emergency food assistance
  • Maintain clients' records by reviewing case notes and logging events and progress
  • Prepare reports and statistics required by The Salvation Army
  • Coordinate the use of volunteers and community service workers for filling food orders and stocking the pantry
  • Ensure the food pantry is organized, clean, and shelves are stocked
  • Maintain an organized filing system of confidential client records and enter required documentation in the SIMS system
  • Facilitate disbursement of funds to clients for emergency assistance throughout the year
  • Assist with providing Christmas Assistance to clients during the holidays
  • Operate multiline telephone system to answer calls and direct callers appropriately
  • Attend relevant training sessions as directed by Corps Officer
  • Drive as required for the role
  • Perform other duties as assigned
