Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year experience related to food pantry or community service
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations especially TEFAP
  • Ability to supervise volunteers
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain detailed records and reports
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks related to stocking and inventory
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver's License with clearance to drive from TSA insurance carrier helpful

Job Duties

  • Manage pantry programs in accordance with The Salvation Army mission, protocol, and procedures and work within food pantry budget
  • Oversee food pantry operations including sorting, storing, displaying, distributing food products, and maintaining inventory
  • Maintain pantry and storage areas in clean and orderly condition
  • Ensure food is handled and stored according to TEFAP regulations
  • Advise supervisor on purchase of items based on inventory and client needs
  • Perform opening and closing procedures for food pantry
  • Train and supervise volunteers
  • Check in food pantry clients per TEFAP data requirements and assist clients with shopping
  • Perform daily checks of freezers and log temperatures
  • Create and maintain accurate records, reports, and statistics for pantry programs
  • Plan, coordinate, and attend food drives and related events
