Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years' experience in non-profit environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in customer service
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must be willing to work occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Safe Serve certified

Job Duties

  • Coordinates all aspects of the operations of the Pantry Program and support the In-Kind inventory for all programs of Families in Transition
  • Orders food for pantry, monitors nutritional content, tracks inventory, and receives daily deliveries
  • Keeps budget for foods ordered
  • Tracks all data requirements and other statistic details
  • Provides courteous service to all guests
  • Demonstrates empathy and a desire to help others within the community experiencing food insecurity
  • Actively engages and encourages volunteers to support all areas of the pantry including scheduling drivers, determining volunteer roles, considering short and long term roles for volunteers, and volunteer recognition
  • Assists in daily receiving of food, sorting, and coordinating food to dining services
  • Ensures food pantry, office space, storage room are clean, safe, sanitary, and well organized according to Safe Serve Standards and Health Department licensing
  • Ensures that all individuals and families are properly registered
  • Manages and maintains confidentiality of participant data input
  • Provides monthly statistics report to Director, Food Services
  • Operates manual equipment
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Participates in in-service training
