Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary experience
  • Ability to work long flexible hours
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to stand for entire shift
  • Ability to handle temperature variations hot and cold
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Must maintain a warm and friendly demeanor
  • Ability to comply with health and safety regulations
  • Must wear proper uniform and nametag
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Willingness to cross-train in other hotel areas

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in hotel or related field preferred
  • Culinary experience required
  • Ability to stand during entire shift
  • Flexible and able to work long hours
  • Knowledge of cooking techniques including charbroiling, poaching, deep-frying, saute, braising, roasting and par-cooking
  • Effective communication skills verbal and written
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Initiative to anticipate guest or operational needs

Job Duties

  • Prepare all cold food items based on standardized recipes
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas
  • Complete necessary food and station preparation prior to restaurant opening
  • Prepare and display buffet food items per hotel standards
  • Work banquet food station as scheduled
  • Follow all health department and company regulations on food safety
  • Support other kitchen positions as needed
