Job Requirements
- Minimum age 18
- high school diploma or equivalent
- completion of company orientation and food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- knowledge of computer systems and equipment
- strong customer service skills

Job Duties
- Provide superior customer service
- take orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answer customer questions regarding products
- assist with selections
- prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product effectively
- slice, package, label, rotate, and cull products for poor quality
- assist in technical areas such as basic set-up and clean-up
- use suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- clean and sanitize display cases
- operate and maintain equipment properly
- comply with food safety and sanitation standards
- comply with department and store operating procedures
- record production and shrink to aid in production planning
- assist in baking, frying, and decorating
- cull bakery products for poor quality and expiration dates
- take care of service counter customers in deli
- use ordering system applications and inventory management processes
- prepare catering orders for customer pickup
- perform sanitation and maintenance for deli slicers
- serve and package prepared foods at customer requests
- educate customers on preparation and reheating instructions
- repackage condiments
- cut, slice, dice, and chop food in preparation for chef
