Job Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent certificate
  • minimum three years of experience in aircraft painting or related field
  • ability to obtain and maintain airport security badge if applicable
  • mechanical aptitude
  • ability to lift heavy objects
  • leadership experience preferred
  • technical school education preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare aircraft components by cleaning, stripping, sanding, and masking
  • apply detail masking using complex instructions from manuals
  • set up, maintain, and operate paint shop equipment such as paint mixers and HVLP paint guns
  • mix and apply various primers and topcoat finishes including polyurethanes, epoxy, lacquers, and clears
  • apply markings using stencils and masking aids
  • monitor paint booth conditions including manometer and temperature/humidity readings
  • manage paint inventory by monitoring, tracking, and ordering supplies
  • collaborate on specialty repairs involving scratches, dents, and color blending
