Job Description

FHCN PACE Center is a specialized healthcare facility dedicated to providing comprehensive care and support for elderly and disabled individuals enrolled in the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). The center focuses on enhancing the quality of life for its participants by coordinating a wide range of medical, social, and supportive services. This facility prides itself on fostering a patient-centered environment that promotes dignity, respect, and independence while ensuring that participants receive the highest standard of care. FHCN PACE Center embraces a multidisciplinary approach, integrating medical, therapeutic, and social services to meet the diverse needs of its patients, all within a community-based setting.

The role of the PACE Receptionist at FHCN PACE Center is pivotal in ensuring smooth operational flow and exceptional patient experiences. This full-time position offers an hourly wage ranging from $21.25 to $29.33, reflecting the importance of the receptionist's contributions to the center's daily activities. The PACE Receptionist acts as the primary point of contact for participants and visitors, greeting and welcoming them warmly. Beyond simple reception duties, this role is deeply involved in patient registration, administrative support, and monitoring patient flow throughout the center.

The receptionist’s responsibilities encompass a variety of clerical and administrative tasks, such as managing correspondence, typing, filing, copying, handling incoming calls, and ordering supplies. A critical part of the job includes the assignment and tracking of Wanderguard wristbands to ensure participant safety, as well as monitoring safeguard alarms while the center is operational. The PACE Receptionist also plays a vital role in patient engagement, assisting walk-ins and same-day visits, performing preliminary health assessments including collecting symptoms and taking temperatures, and keeping patients informed about wait times to enhance their overall experience.

An important aspect of the position involves pre-scrubbing appointments to ensure all necessary information is available for patient visits, managing patient registrations by collecting demographics and insurance eligibility data, and processing medical record releases and requests in compliance with center policies. The receptionist must ensure all patient documents, forms, and electronic health records are updated accurately and timely. Additionally, the role requires adherence to procedures for opening and closing the health center, maintaining a professional and organized front desk environment, and undertaking any other duties as assigned to support the center’s mission.

Candidates for the PACE Receptionist role are expected to possess a solid foundation of professional and technical knowledge, typically acquired through trade schools, para-professional programs, or certificate programs beyond high school. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential, as the role demands creating complex documents, compiling data, and preparing presentations.

Communication skills are paramount, as the receptionist must effectively convey technical information in an accessible manner to diverse audiences and prepare clear, effective written correspondence and reports. The position also has physical demands that require the ability to sit for extended periods, perform repetitive hand movements, and occasionally engage in activities such as bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting objects up to 20 pounds.

Holding a valid California driver’s license is a mandatory requirement for this role, underscoring the importance of reliability and responsibility.

Overall, the PACE Receptionist position at FHCN PACE Center is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about healthcare administration and patient services to contribute meaningfully to a community-focused healthcare team, ensuring participants receive the care and attention they deserve in a welcoming and efficient environment.
