Job Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Minimum three years recent critical care or emergency nursing experience
  • Minimum one year full-time flight nursing experience
  • Current RN license(s) for states of practice
  • CFRN certification
  • Must maintain weight no greater than 225 pounds including flight gear
  • Ability to travel frequently and work flexible 24-hour shifts
  • Maintain required certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ITLS, or equivalent
  • Complete NIMS training IS 100, 200, 700, 800 and HazMat
  • Ability to work within multiple state licensure requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Dependable and self-motivated
  • Adherence to Air Methods policies and job attendance requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Bachelor’s degree in health-related field preferred
  • Minimum one year full-time flight nursing experience
  • At least three years recent critical care or emergency nursing experience within the last five years
  • Current RN license with multi-state or compact license preferred
  • CFRN certification required
  • Current certifications in BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or equivalent
  • EMS or MICN certification as required
  • Advanced trauma course certification
  • Current NRP certification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills

Job Duties

  • Provide high-quality patient care from initial contact through transport to the accepting facility
  • Support flight teams at multiple bases ensuring safety is the top priority
  • Maintain competency in advanced procedures, critical care, and aviation safety
  • Collaborate with EMS, hospitals, and clinical teams across the region
  • Work flexible 24-hour shifts assigned in advance by centralized scheduling
  • Assist in aircraft pre-mission briefings and safety checks
  • Participate in ongoing education, documentation, and team meetings
