Job Requirements

  • Three or more years of experience in a professional kitchen preferably in high-volume or upscale environments
  • basic understanding of culinary techniques including grilling sautéing roasting and knife skills
  • familiarity with food safety and sanitation procedures
  • ability to follow recipes portion guidelines and prep list accurately
  • understanding of cooking techniques food safety and kitchen equipment
  • excellent time management and communication skills
  • willingness to grow into a leadership role
  • ability to lift and move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards
  • helps supervise and train cooks and kitchen staff providing direction during service
  • stores food in designated areas following all corporate state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
  • ensures proper food handling presentation portion control and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
  • maintains sanitation of equipment supplies and utensils and cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving area
  • keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service to comply with sanitation safety production and merchandising requirements
  • ensures proper storage labeling and rotation of ingredients and prepared foods
  • demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to associates and customers
  • monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies and tracks product production consumption and waste
  • performs other duties as assigned
