Job Requirements
- Three or more years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in high-volume or upscale environments
- Basic understanding of culinary techniques including grilling, sauteing, roasting, and knife skills
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation procedures
- Availability for part-time, event-based schedule including afternoons, nights, and weekends
- Willingness to work a seasonal position from October through April 2026, with possible extension
Job Qualifications
- Ability to follow recipes, portion guidelines, and prep list accurately
- Understand cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen equipment
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Basic knowledge of food prep, plating, kitchen safety, and sanitation
- Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Willingness to grow into a leadership role
- Prior supervisory experience is a plus
- Ability to lift and move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds
Job Duties
- Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards
- Helps supervise and train cooks and kitchen staff, providing direction during service
- Stores food in designated areas following corporate, state, and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
- Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
- Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils
- Cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving area
- Keeps display equipment clean during meal service
- Ensures proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients and prepared foods
- Demonstrates full understanding of daily menu and explains items to associates and customers
- Monitors inventory and deliveries of products and supplies
- Tracks product production, consumption, and waste
- Informs supervisor when supplies or products are low
- Performs other duties as assigned
