Job Description
SE Independent Distribution Services (SEIDS) is a prominent logistics and delivery company specializing in providing exceptional home delivery services for premier national furniture retailers. SEIDS operates within a dynamic and growing sector, offering owner-operators the opportunity to join as independent contractors. The company is focused on a local delivery market in Savannah, Georgia, where it is currently expanding its services and seeking motivated Owner-Operators with their own CDL-A tractor trailers or CDL-B box trucks to relocate for a lucrative opportunity. SEIDS prides itself on building a supportive, opportunity-rich environment where independent contractors can manage their own businesses while benefiting from reliable and steady freight and support. Relocation to Savannah, GA, offers drivers the advantage of local routes that allow them to be home daily, which is often a rare benefit in the trucking industry. SEIDS further incentivizes relocation by offering a $6,000 relocation assistance bonus, underscoring the company's commitment to attracting skilled, truck-owning professionals to the region. The compensation structure is highly competitive, with experienced truck drivers having the potential to earn over $140,000 annually, based on successful route management and effective delivery services. This role is strictly a 1099 independent contractor position, requiring ownership of a qualifying box truck or tractor trailer, combined with at least one year of CDL driving experience.
As an Owner-Operator Independent Contractor with SEIDS in Savannah, GA, your primary responsibility will be delivering quality furniture and accessories to residential and commercial customers. This includes handling the loading and unloading of items, assembling furniture when necessary, and ensuring products reach the end customer in excellent condition. The role involves using a company dispatch app to receive routing information and communicate with dispatch or company representatives, as well as engaging professionally with customers throughout the delivery and setup process. The day shift schedule aligns well with home-life balance, providing drivers the opportunity to return home every evening. This local route nature means safer and more predictable working conditions, and a structured workday. Additional benefits include weekly settlements and direct deposit payments, enhancing financial convenience for contractors. SEIDS emphasizes compliance and safety with mandatory DOT-required drug and physical tests, background checks, driving tests, and strict policies regarding no recent DUI or DWI within the past five years for all candidates. To succeed in this role, applicants must also have at least two qualified helpers available to assist with deliveries and installations, reflecting the physical demands of the position. SEIDS provides all contractor drivers with a pathway to operate their own successful trucking business within a supportive framework tailored to independent owner-operators, fostering growth and profitability in the local delivery market.
