Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Technical school education preferred
  • One year maintenance and/or housekeeping experience preferred
  • Basic technical knowledge such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and code compliance
  • Mechanical ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Basic knowledge of construction principles
  • General understanding of OSHA, fire prevention, life and safety regulations
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently

Job Duties

  • Assist with maintaining a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents, guests and team members
  • Perform routine maintenance duties to complete all service requests for repair and maintenance of grounds, buildings, apartment homes, equipment and vehicles
  • Fix wall and/or floor coverings, repair furniture and fixtures, perform basic plumbing work, minor electrical repairs, appliance repairs, painting and refurbishing projects
  • Assist in the execution of the preventative maintenance program
  • Work on heating and air conditioning systems, domestic water systems and pumps, refrigeration systems, motors, fans, electrical systems and emergency generators
  • Perform carpet and hard surface floor maintenance
  • Conduct deep cleaning and make ready resident suites as assigned
  • Assist with fire safety and disaster preparedness evacuation procedures
