Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Six months of floor technician or custodial experience preferred
- Previous experience operating floor care machinery preferred
- Ability to stand or walk continuously for long periods
- Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 50 lbs regularly and 75 to 100 lbs with assistance
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- Ability to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to attend and participate in training and work-related meetings
- Ability to comply with building and security requirements
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively and report issues
- Ability to maintain a positive and respectful attitude
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Floor technician training desired
- Knowledge of floor finishes, applications, and removals
- Knowledge of floor care equipment
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment used at site
- Six months of floor technician experience preferred
- Previous experience operating machinery
- Six months of custodial experience
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to follow detailed equipment maintenance programs
- Understanding of safety procedures and environmental requirements
- Ability to mix chemicals properly
- Ability to complete tasks timely and attend work regularly
- Ability to interact positively and courteously with others
- Ability to comply with all building, security, and company policies
Job Duties
- Comply with all agency policies and procedures and follow contract specifications
- Comply with uniform dress code and personal hygiene standards
- Clean all assigned areas in accordance with contract specifications
- Prepare areas before assignments by removing loose objects
- Use all equipment following safety precautions and in intended manner
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment before and after use
- Sweep, mop, strip, seal, wax, burnish, and buff floors using various floor care machines
- Operate scrubbers, burnishers, buffers, strippers, extractors, wet vacs, vacuum cleaners, pressure washers, and steamers
- Perform high cleaning at BWI Airport Complex including ceilings, walls, ticket kiosks, vents, signage, and security check points
- Clean glass and brightwork surfaces including partitions, mirrors, and windows
- Assist with inventory and general custodial duties as needed
- Maintain control of disinfecting sprayers and remove overspray residue
- Follow all safety and security procedures
- Move furniture and equipment to gain access when needed
- Empty and clean machines after use
- Record and report maintenance issues
- Perform emergency cleaning duties
