Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • at least 1 year of experience as a cook in a restaurant institutional or large volume feeding
  • basic reading writing and math skills
  • ability to follow standardized recipes and safety guidelines
  • capacity to work overnight shifts 10 pm to 6:30 am or 8 pm to 4:30 am
  • physical ability to perform cooking and food preparation tasks
  • commitment to maintaining food safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • high school graduate or GED preferred
  • at least 1 year of experience as a cook in a restaurant institutional or large volume feeding
  • basic reading writing and simple mathematics skills
  • ability to follow standardized recipes and food safety protocols
  • good interpersonal and communication skills

Job Duties

  • complete the cooking process of menu items such as soups meats vegetables desserts using standardized recipes and daily worksheets
  • demonstrate competence in critical thinking interpersonal relationships and technical skills
  • provide care and service safely and efficiently for each patient
  • perform duties in food production and cafeteria
  • organize daily production in unit
  • prepare food for inventory and service including portioning wrapping labeling and dating food items
  • ensure proper storage and rotation of inventories in refrigerators and freezers following HACCP and department standards
  • maintain a safe and sanitary food preparation and service environment
  • test and evaluate new recipes
  • adjust work hours to prepare needed cafeteria or catering products
  • perform professional clinical and technical competencies as required
