availability to work evening shifts including weekends
ability to stand for extended periods
basic math skills
ability to provide excellent customer service
capability to handle cash transactions
willingness to work in a fast-paced retail environment

Job Qualifications

Must be 18 years or older
experience in customer service preferred
ability to operate cash register and self-checkout systems
strong communication and interpersonal skills
attention to detail and accuracy
friendly and approachable demeanor
ability to work evening shifts including weekends

Job Duties

Engage customers in friendly conversation while making eye contact and smiling
proactively offer additional assistance
thank customers for shopping at Wegmans
efficiently and accurately scan items and process payments
properly bag items to ensure products arrive at their destination in the condition they left the store
manage traffic flow in the self-checkout area
direct customers to available lanes
ensure the lanes are in good working order
assist customers with system troubleshooting
maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work space
