Job Requirements
- 18 years or older
- Availability for overnight hours including weekends and holidays
- Food handler certification required
- Ability to stand, walk, twist, sit, and bend for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Manual dexterity for handling small objects and operating equipment
- Ability to push, pull, carry, lift, reach, grip, and balance
- Occasionally stoop, crouch, kneel, or crawl
- Access and navigate all production areas
- Ability to use commercial mixers, pallet jack, wheeler, trash compactor, ovens, fryers, slicers, knives, wrapping machine, scales, sheeters, trays, pans, racks, tempering tools, temperature-controlled rooms, computers, and phones
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of baking or commercial bakery experience preferred
- Working knowledge of commercial baking equipment or willingness to learn
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting during overnight hours
- Food handler’s permit or ability to obtain one
- Strong self-motivation skills
- Proven ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to learn new programs quickly
- Good math skills
- Great verbal communication skills
Job Duties
- Prepare and bake fresh bread, rolls, pastries, and other baked goods using provided recipes and formulas
- Accurately measure, mix, cook, and package products according to recipes and batch sizes
- Assist with production runs according to demand forecasts and adjust as needed
- Maintain proper inventory levels and order supplies to prevent shortages
- Follow nightly production schedule to ensure shelves are stocked by store opening
- Monitor batch consistency, baking times, temperatures, and product output to ensure quality
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized workstation following food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist in monitoring inventory and minimizing waste, reporting issues to Bakery Manager
- Greet and assist guests and team members in a friendly manner
- Provide knowledgeable answers to inquiries and promote high morale
- Ensure product freshness by rotating stock and checking expiration dates
- Store perishable and dry ingredients properly to prevent spoilage
- Package and label bakery goods to maintain freshness and comply with food safety regulations
- Minimize product waste and ensure proper disposal or recycling
- Maintain a safe work area, follow safety procedures, and report hazards
- Work cooperatively with team members to achieve store goals and participate in training
- Follow company policies, promote a harassment-free environment, and provide professional example to team members
