Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in community outreach or similar role preferred
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work in outdoor settings including extreme weather
  • reliable transportation
  • availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • proficiency with basic computer applications
  • willingness to engage with diverse communities
  • commitment to ELF’s mission and values

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in community outreach or public engagement preferred
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • proficiency in data entry and record-keeping
  • cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse populations
  • adaptability to work in dynamic and sometimes challenging environments
  • basic organizational skills and attention to detail

Job Duties

  • Lead and support outreach activities as assigned
  • present ELF program information at events and in group or one-on-one settings
  • support door-to-door outreach, canvassing, and tabling to engage the community
  • assist in planning and executing ELF-led events, workshops, and program-specific outreach
  • adapt outreach strategies based on team direction and community feedback
  • participate in community events held outdoors or indoors including during extreme weather
  • serve as a connector by providing relevant resources and referrals
  • maintain updated knowledge of ELF services
  • accurately track and report outreach metrics
  • ensure timely and organized record-keeping for outreach activities and client interactions
  • help maintain shared office and outreach materials
  • provide program support including working at camps, tax clinics, afterschool programs, recycling efforts, and workshops
  • assist with operational and administrative tasks like event preparation and file organization
  • support internal communication and coordination efforts
