Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current state licensure as a registered nurse
- CPR BLS certification
- Minimum 9 months experience as a registered nurse
- Minimum 3 months experience in chronic or acute hemodialysis as a registered nurse
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and moving patients
- Ability to work in a healthcare environment with potential exposure to infectious diseases
- Flexibility to travel to different facilities as needed
Job Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current state RN licensure
- CPR BLS certification
- Minimum 9 months experience as a registered nurse
- Minimum 3 months experience in chronic or acute hemodialysis as a registered nurse
- Entry level nephrology nursing experience preferred
- Ability to perform patient assessments and nursing care planning
- Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and patient education skills
Job Duties
- Perform all essential functions under supervisor direction and with clinical educator or RN collaboration
- Collect and analyze patient data pre-, during-, and post-hemodialysis treatment and document in medical records
- Adjust treatment plans as needed and notify medical team
- Assess, collaborate, and document basic learning needs of patients and families for education
- Direct and provide safe and effective hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with patient care staff
- Administer prescribed medications and document effectiveness
- Initiate or assist emergency responses
- Serve as resource for healthcare team and participate in staff training and orientation
- Ensure correct laboratory procedures and reschedule as needed
- Identify and document expected outcomes and update nursing care plans through interdisciplinary collaboration
- Ensure patient awareness of transplant and treatment modality options
- Complete CAP requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
