Job Requirements

  • Open availability to work evening shifts from 1 pm to 10 pm including weekdays and weekends
  • Experience managing kitchen staff and culinary operations
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse culinary team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and demands
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with kitchen work

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a sous chef or similar role in a restaurant or hotel environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking methods and food safety standards
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with inventory management and cost control
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Assume the role of liaison between Harry's Place, Stewarding, and In Room Dining operations and culinary staff
  • Supervise the preparation and cooking of various food items
  • Manage hourly kitchen employees through scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluating and hiring
  • May manage other key culinary leadership roles including supervisor and other less senior Sous Chefs
  • Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results
  • Monitor food production, ordering, cost, and quality and consistency on a daily basis
