Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in bartending or hospitality preferred
  • knowledge of alcohol service laws
  • ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • strong customer service skills
  • manual dexterity for drink preparation
  • reliable attendance and punctuality
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Hotel experience preferred
  • must communicate well with guests
  • basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and alcoholic beverages service
  • basic mathematical skills to operate cash register and handle transactions
  • sufficient manual dexterity to prepare garnishes and handle bar equipment
  • ability to remember, recite and promote menu items
  • ability to operate keyboard and point of sale systems
  • ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
  • ability to establish effective relationships with associates, customers and patrons
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to adapt communication style for different audiences

Job Duties

  • Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis
  • requisitions and stocks beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on daily function projections
  • maintains stock, cuts, and stores all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables daily
  • greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner
  • promotes and documents orders for drinks
  • mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard recipes and portion control
  • abides by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements related to alcoholic beverages
  • inputs orders into a register and creates checks to maintain accountability
  • receives cash, makes change, verifies charges and records them
  • locks and stores all beverage, food and equipment items
  • secures cash deposits and bank
  • complies with attendance rules and maintains regular availability
  • performs any other job-related duties as assigned
