Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous bartending or beverage service experience preferred
- must be at least 21 years old
- able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift
- effective communication skills by telephone and in person
- basic computer/MICROS knowledge
- capable of lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- previous cash handling experience
- valid San Diego County Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- ability to work flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Must be able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift
- must be able to communicate effectively by telephone and in person
- must have basic computer/MICROS knowledge
- must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- previous cash handling experience is required
- must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service certification upon hire if not already certified
- must be able to work in a fast paced environment providing courteous service and engaging the guests in conversation
- must be able to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Serve properly mixed and proportioned drinks in a timely manner to guests and servers
- have excellent working knowledge of liquors, beers, and wines
- upsell and suggestive sell food and beverage to guests
- requisition and restock bar with all essential products and equipment
- observe and adhere to all liquor liability laws
- check identification of guests ensuring alcohol is served only to patrons of legal drinking age
- monitor alcohol intake of guests prohibiting sale to intoxicated patrons
- communicate with guests and respond to feedback in a positive manner resolving any service issues
