Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- valid driver's license
- ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening
- capability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
- physical ability to perform duties involving equipment handling and outdoor activities
- strong interpersonal skills
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- proficiency with computer software and communication tools
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in recreation, environmental science, education, or related field preferred
- experience in outdoor recreation program development and event coordination
- strong communication and organizational skills
- ability to work with diverse groups including volunteers and community partners
- proficiency with marketing and promotional tools such as social media and email marketing
- experience with administrative tasks including reporting and equipment management
- knowledge of risk management practices
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- commitment to professional development and certification maintenance
Job Duties
- Supports research, development, and implementation of outdoor recreation programs including in-person and virtual programming
- supports planning and facilitation of programs with the public under supervision
- assists with risk management
- works with partners, contract instructors, service providers, and volunteers to facilitate programs and events
- procures, inventories, and maintains program and event equipment
- provides administrative support including program and grant reporting
- participates in agency initiatives and MetroParks-wide programming
- maintains confidentiality of sensitive information
- supports development and implementation of events including exhibitor relations and volunteer management
- supports marketing and promotional efforts across various channels
- provides public service by responding to questions and supporting programs
- coordinates fleet management responsibilities
- assists with development of Speaker Bureau and outreach programs
- collaborates internally across departments
- attends professional development and training
- maintains required certifications
- performs other duties as assigned
