Job Requirements
- Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily
- Associate's degree in outdoor recreation management or related field
- One year experience in outdoor recreation programming
- Willingness and ability to work varied schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Personal experience with outdoor adventure and nature activities
- Valid driver's license meeting insurance carrier guidelines
- Wilderness first aid certification within one year of employment
- Specialized outdoor recreation certifications as needed
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree in outdoor recreation management or closely related field
- One year experience in outdoor recreation programming
- Personal experience with outdoor adventure and nature program activities such as kayaking, canoeing, stand up paddleboarding, biking, backpacking, rock climbing, camping, wilderness medicine, fishing, map and compass navigation, trip planning, leadership, natural interpretation
- Valid driver's license meeting insurance guidelines
- Wilderness first aid certification within one year of employment
- Specialized outdoor recreation certifications as needed
Job Duties
- Supports research, development, and implementation of outdoor recreation programs, serves as lead or supporting instructor including in-person and virtual programming
- Supports planning and facilitation of programs with the public under supervision, including risk management
- Supports Coordinator in working with partners, contract instructors, service providers, and volunteers to facilitate programs, activities, and events
- Procures, inventories, checks in and out, repairs and maintains program and event equipment
- Provides administrative support and assists with program reports, grant reporting, and cost of service reports
- Supports development and implementation of events including exhibitor relations, managing volunteers, communications with partners and sponsors, media relations
- Supports marketing and promotional efforts for programming, special events, and facilities including social media, e-mail marketing, print materials
