Job Requirements
- Must be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Must have vision within a range from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, with depth perception, color vision and field of vision
- Must be able to perform climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions
- Must report to work when scheduled and on time
- Must understand and follow local, state and company policies regarding sales and compliance
- Employment contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen

Job Duties
- Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions
- Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner throughout the store
- Learn customers' names and address them by name whenever possible
- Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading heavy items, noting and passing along customer suggestions, and enhancing the shopping experience
- Answer the telephone promptly and provide helpful service
- Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
- Operate cash register accurately and scan products
- Redeem promotional coupons, food stamps, WIC checks, issue rain checks, handle cash, checks, credit card transactions, calculate discounts, count back change, and issue receipts
- Package merchandise and assist courtesy personnel as needed
- Address customer questions and concerns and follow-up with proper personnel
- Follow store policies on sales of tobacco, liquor, and lottery tickets
- Ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines regarding WIC and food stamps
- Stock, face, rotate merchandise, clean shelves, and assist customers in locating items
- Maintain store safety, security and clean register area
- Compare cash register totals with currency for balance verification
- Issue cash refunds or credit memorandums for returns or direct customers appropriately
- Adhere to company sanitation, hygiene, dress code, and punctuality policies
- Assist store management with special promotion displays and events
- Know code dates on perishable items and explain to customers
- Change register tape and ribbons
- Assist in other store areas and perform special projects as required
