Job Requirements

  • Minimum three years experience in leading and teaching recreational activities
  • At least one year experience in developing and managing recreational programs
  • Ability to obtain required certifications in first aid and archery
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and web navigation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 pounds independently and heavier weights with assistance
  • Willingness to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays
  • Ability to work more than eight hours a day
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Adherence to safety regulations and standards
  • Must be able to work in various locations on and off base

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years experience leading and teaching recreational activities such as mountain biking, surfing, stand-up paddleboarding, and archery
  • At least one year experience developing, managing, and maintaining a recreational or similar program
  • Degree in Recreational Management or related field preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certifications in Wilderness First Responder, Archery Level 1, American Red Cross First Aid, CPR/AED within six months of employment
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Experience planning and organizing programs and events
  • Minimum two years experience in clerical duties such as typing, filing, record keeping
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web navigation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships inside and outside the organization
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

Job Duties

  • Plan, organize, and lead large groups of active-duty units in recreational activities
  • Supervise participants and enforce safety regulations
  • Develop and implement operational risk management in accordance with Base Safety Program
  • Maintain and monitor recreational equipment inventory and perform necessary repairs
  • Provide world-class customer service and resolve issues promptly
  • Manage budgets and financial records, including use of Government Purchase Card
  • Support Warrior Athlete Readiness and Resilience (WARR) programming and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
