Job Requirements
- Minimum of three years leading and teaching recreational activities
- At least one year experience managing recreational programs
- Valid state driver’s license
- Ability to obtain certifications such as Wilderness First Responder and American Red Cross First Aid, CPR/AED within six months
- Experience in event planning and clerical duties
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 pounds independently and heavier objects with assistance
- Willingness to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of personal information
- Compliance with EEO and safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of three years experience leading and teaching recreational activities such as mountain biking, surfing, stand-up paddleboarding, archery
- At least one year experience developing, managing, and maintaining a recreational or similar program
- Degree in Recreational Management or related field preferred and may count as two years experience
- Certifications or training in Wilderness First Responder, Archery Level 1, and leading outdoor recreational activities required
- Must obtain American Red Cross First Aid, CPR/AED certification within first six months
- Valid state driver’s license
- Experience planning and organizing programs and events
- Minimum of two years clerical experience including typing, filing, record keeping
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Windows navigation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills with ability to organize and execute events
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships and work with minimal supervision
Job Duties
- Market and develop recreational activities for active-duty Marines
- Schedule and supervise large groups in various recreational activities such as rock climbing, bike riding, fishing, hiking, kayaking, archery, surfing, and ocean activities
- Implement operational risk management in accordance with Base Safety Program
- Enforce safety regulations and standards
- Advise groups on safety regulations, emergency procedures, and proper use of equipment
- Monitor and maintain inventory and maintenance records of recreational equipment
- Provide exceptional customer service with emphasis on courtesy and problem-solving
- Manage financial responsibilities including budget adherence and government purchase card use
- Support Warrior Athlete Readiness and Resilience (WARR) programming and Marine Corps Total Fitness (MCTF) strategy
- Work flexible hours including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Perform related duties as assigned
