Job Requirements

  • Must be a United States citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker
  • ability to travel up to 50 percent
  • provide Social Security Number for verifications
  • male applicants born on or after October 1, 1962, must be registered with Selective Service System or have exemption
  • compliance with Florida Department of Transportation's drug-free workplace policy
  • ability to work effectively independently and in teams
  • strong organizational and communication skills
  • ability to use Microsoft Suite applications

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of professional or nonprofessional experience in program or event planning, organizational or staff development, or professional development programs
  • post-secondary education can substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis
  • knowledge of Florida statutes and department policies regarding travel, inventory, records management, and budgets
  • proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • excellent customer service orientation
  • ability to coordinate and facilitate meetings and training sessions
  • effective communication and relationship-building skills
  • ability to prioritize complex work assignments and adapt to changing environments

Job Duties

  • Serve as a point of contact for training and development initiatives
  • manage planning, scheduling, logistics, and communications for professional development events
  • coordinate in-person, virtual, and hybrid training sessions
  • support organizational development objectives by aligning programs with strategic goals
  • conduct research on training trends and monitor program outcomes
  • maintain accurate records and documentation related to training programs
  • monitor budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure effective program execution
