Job Requirements
- Liquor Commission Card and certification from alcohol awareness program
- Tuberculosis (TB) clearance
- Ability to move tables and chairs
- Ability to transport supplies weighing 10-25 pounds
- Ability to stand or walk for up to 8-9 hours per shift
- Ability to maintain stationary position for half hour
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work 10 hour shifts
- Ability to reach 6 feet
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three years assistant manager experience in upscale restaurant
- Prior restaurant service and guest relations experience
- Must communicate effectively and maintain positive guest relations
- Familiarity with P.O.S. systems and computer software
Job Qualifications
- Minimum three years experience as Assistant Manager in an upscale bar or restaurant
- High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate preferred
- Prior restaurant service and guest relations experience preferred
- Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and service excellence
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff
- Familiarity with P.O.S. systems and general computer use
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to maintain positive guest relations at all times
- Knowledge of local liquor laws and alcohol service certification
- Ability to train and lead a team effectively
Job Duties
- Greet and acknowledge all arriving and departing guests
- Escort guests to tables and assist with seating
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all department policies and service procedures and standards
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly
- Maintain positive guest and employee relations
- Resolve guest complaints ensuring satisfaction
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas
- Maintain knowledge of menu, wine list, and beverage offerings
- Train and retrain new and existing staff
- Work with Restaurant Manager in scheduling and labor forecasting
- Authorize staff requests for leave and schedule changes
- Interview candidates and assist in hiring decisions
- Conduct employee performance evaluations
- Ensure compliance with liquor laws, health and sanitation regulations
- Participate in sales calls and client visitations
- Recommend improvements to Food and Beverage Director
- Ensure compliance with SOPs in the outlets
- Maintain presence on dining room floor during operational hours
- Assist staff in providing exceptional service
- Complete administrative work assigned by the manager
