Job Requirements
- Ability to work at least eight hours per day
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Capability to reach, push, pull, bend, lift, carry, stoop, and wipe continuously
- Frequent hand washing and handling of cleaning products
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Frequent manipulation of fingers, hands, and arms for cutting, measuring, pouring, serving, carrying, and wiping
Job Qualifications
- High school or GED or technical school education
- Minimum two years experience working in high-volume kitchen environments
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Excellent record in kitchen and staff management
- Team player with a positive 'can do' attitude
- Ability to handle difficult situations and adapt quickly to resolve problems
- Familiarity with updated industry best practices
- Working knowledge of computer software such as MS Office, Google Docs, and POS systems
Job Duties
- Effectively control food production ensuring maximum quality and yield
- Monitor staff adherence to operating methods to ensure security of stock and company property
- Assist with staff training and discipline in collaboration with management team
- Communicate with Chef and General Manager on back-of-house matters
- Support and promote back-of-house related promotional activities and outside events
- Check quality and quantity of food leaving the kitchen consistently
- Ensure correct food preparation methods and presentation standards
- Maintain efficient, smooth, and quick kitchen service adhering to company standards
- Order and purchase food supplies economically
- Manage food storage activities ensuring proper condition and stock rotation
- Minimize food spoilage
- Ensure quality and quantity control of mis-en-place at stations
- Promote positive working relations among staff
- Organize kitchen operations for efficiency and safety
- Train and motivate kitchen staff fostering a happy, motivated, disciplined team
- Perform additional duties assigned by Executive Chef or General Manager
- Implement standard operating procedures relevant to kitchen areas
- Complete assigned objectives within the allocated time
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and appearance
- Exhibit friendliness and courtesy toward staff, management, and guests
- Attend required training courses and meetings
- Work entire shifts unless directed otherwise
- Manage kitchen labor according to company standards
