Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED preferred
- minimum one year experience in an operating room environment
- ability to follow oral and written instructions and read and write English
- ability to perform duties requiring standing, walking, stooping, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds
- previous OR experience required
- must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

- experience in hands-on patient care in a hospital setting preferred
- previous OR experience required
Job Duties
- assists with physical preparation of patient and physical environment prior to surgery according to the age and needs of the patient population served
- transports and transfers patients as necessary
- functions as a porter between departments ensuring required medical supplies, information, specimens, and products are delivered in a timely fashion
- ensures safe care to patients adhering to policies, procedures, and standards of care, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, and accuracy of practice
- promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory or continuing education, skills competency
- supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization
- serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff
- demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of the community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences
- models Memorial Hermann’s service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues
- other duties as assigned
