Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required
- Previous reception or medical office experience desired
- Must be authorized to work in the US
- Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the day
- Ability to lift items up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to travel up to 25 percent

Job Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally during check-in and check-out
- Collect and update patient demographic and insurance information
- Use practice management software to process payments and schedule appointments
- Provide information and answer patient questions regarding medical authorizations, insurance coverage, and facility locations
- Function as a cashier for clinic and optical services, managing billing for unpaid charges
- Verify insurance eligibility and collect required insurance data during check-in
- Schedule follow-up appointments, procedures, and consultations as needed
- Balance cash drawer and complete end-of-day reconciliation
- Notify patients of arriving optical jobs and key invoices accurately
- Answer and triage phone calls promptly and politely to the appropriate staff member
