Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- six months experience as package handler at FedEx or similar fast-paced environment
- ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- ability to work in hot or cold temperatures
- ability to work in noisy and fume-filled environment
- minimal travel availability
- willingness to maintain knowledge of technology-based projects
- effective communication skills
- ability to provide instruction and mentorship
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED required
- bachelor's degree preferred
- certification program or Associate's Degree related to experience may substitute
- six months experience as package handler at FedEx or in fast-paced environment
- military experience with honorable discharge or supervisory experience
- ability to inspire shared vision and motivate team
- demonstrated ability to build professional rapport and positively influence diverse groups
- proven sound business judgment
- verbal and written communication skills for various audience levels
- ability to instruct employees on processes

Job Duties
- serve as a champion for FedEx's Safety Above All Culture and support all related initiatives
- manage hiring, terminations, coaching, training, recognition and rewards, performance evaluation and management, discipline, addressing employee concerns and staff productivity
- plan, organize, staff, direct and control specific day-to-day operations
- assign and manage employees to ensure the safe and efficient sortation of packages, minimizing operational cost and maximizing operational quality, including trailer movement and administration
- analyze operational performance through observation and report interpretation
- determine opportunities for improvement and execute action plans
- lead daily employee and planning meetings to ensure workforce communication and understanding of operational updates and goals
- participate in employee relations and safety strategy development and administration
- investigate, resolve or escalate customer service issues
- train new employees on job duties, performance expectations, and compliance with policies and safety requirements
- mentor and develop critical skill sets for new or less-experienced supervisors
- adapt quickly to change and lead employees with flexibility and urgency
- perform other duties as assigned
