Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Six months experience in package handling or related fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work in hot or cold temperatures
  • Ability to work in noisy environments with fumes
  • Minimal travel required
  • Effective communication and leadership skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Certification program or Associate’s Degree in a related area or 2+ years of college courses towards a degree preferred
  • Six months of experience as package handler or in fast-paced work environment such as retail, hospitality, warehouse, dock, or stock functions
  • Military experience with honorable discharge or supervisory experience
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and empower a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret numerical data and written instructions
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and web-based applications
  • Ability to mentor and coach others

Job Duties

  • Serve as a champion for FedEx's Safety Above All Culture and support all related initiatives
  • Manage hiring, terminations, coaching, training, recognition, performance evaluation, discipline, employee concerns, and staff productivity
  • Plan, organize, staff, direct and control specific day-to-day operations
  • Assign and manage employees to ensure safe and efficient package sortation, minimize operational costs and maximize quality
  • Analyze operational performance, interpret reports, collaborate for improvements, and execute action plans
  • Lead daily employee and planning meetings for communication and operational updates
  • Participate in company safety strategies and employee relations, including confidentiality and compliance
